My kid loves cars and hates cake. So this is what I made him for his 5th Birthday party.
Food Stuff
There is a yogurt joint near our house called Tutti Frutti. We go there after dinner sometimes on the weekend as a special treat. The kids like it becasue they can pump their own yogurt, and they have brightly colored spoons, and there are gummy bears on the toppings bar. I like it because, well, for those same reasons.
Last night we were sitting at the table eating our various Tutti Frutti concoctions. I turned to Annabel, who looked extra cute in her bright green sundress and pink flip-flops.
“Annabel you are ‘Cutie Frutti.’” She started to giggle and froyo with sprinkles dribbled out of her mouth. Then she pointed to her brother.
“And Daniel is ‘Pootie Frutti!’” She said, which got everyone at the table laughing out loud.
“And Mama is “Beauty Frutti.’” I said as my wife rolled her eyes and sighed.
“Wait,” cried Bean. “What’s Daddy?”
Annabel didn’t miss a beat.
“Daddy is sweaty!”
Jackass star Ryan Dunn was super-drunk when he wrecked his Porsche and killed himself and his passenger. Toxicology reports have his BAL at .196. What got him so drunk? Two things: Bad judgement and “Picklebacks!”
Picklebacks are shots popular at bars in New England and Pennsylvania. It’s a shot of whisky with a pickle juice chaser. I’m guessing dill pickle juice becasue it has a high salt factor. But I’m sure you could use something sweet like “Bread and Butter” pickles or “Gherkin” juice.

I love pickles myself and have often been caught with my lips around the pickle jar (not a euphemism) but I’ve never had a “Pickleback.” Sounds tasty to me! But let’s face it, after the first four or five you probably don’t notice the taste anymore anyway. Now that it was the last drink of Ryan Dunn, I imagine Jackass fans around the world will create a surge in the shot’s popularity.
If the thought of chasing hard whisky with salty pickle brine doesn’t make you gag, perhaps your stomach is strong enough for some ot these other questionable concoctions:
Prarie Fire – Tequila with a splash of Tabasco Sauce. Rumored to be the cause of the Arizona wildfire.
Cement Mixer – Add lime juice to a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream. The lime juice curdles the Bailey’s making it look like thick cement.
